Project 01

Nishulk Shiksha Kendra — Free Learning Centre, Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar, Indore 150+ children every year

Nishulk Shiksha Kendra is SSVS's free learning centre for children of daily-wage workers, migrant families and slum communities in Gandhinagar, Indore. The centre runs every weekday with trained volunteer teachers and provides foundational learning, school enrolment support, books, stationery and a daily nutrition snack.

Many of the children who walk into the Kendra are first-generation learners. Our team meets parents, completes school admissions, and continues to mentor each child through their school years so they do not drop out.

Children Home for Boys — Nandbag, Indore

Nandbag, Indore Up to 60 boys housed at any time

Our Children Home at Nandbag is a government-recognised residential facility offering 24x7 care to orphaned, abandoned, runaway and rescued boys. Each child receives a safe bed, three nutritious meals a day, healthcare, schooling and continuous emotional support.

House parents, social workers and counsellors live and work with the children, helping them recover from trauma and rebuild a sense of family. Older boys are supported with vocational training and a clear path towards independent living.

NCLP Programme — National Child Labour Project

Indore & Khandwa districts 350+ children rescued and rehabilitated

Under the National Child Labour Project of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, SSVS identifies, rescues and rehabilitates children engaged in hazardous and exploitative labor. Rescue operations are conducted jointly with the District Child Protection Unit, labor department and police.

Every rescued child is enrolled in an NCLP Special Training Centre where they receive bridge education, mid-day meals, a monthly stipend, healthcare and vocational training, and are then transitioned into mainstream schooling.
